Data You Give Us Directly
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us or send a message through this site, we keep that message so we can write back. It stays inside our team and is not shared outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Search Queries
A name, a case number or a date of birth typed into one of the search boxes here goes directly to the third-party company that runs that search. They process the query and return the results. We do not log or store those entries on our side.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each page load sends our servers basic technical information about the visit. That set typically includes:
- The IP address your device is using
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- Your browser name and version
- The site that referred you here, when one did
- Your device type and operating system
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files your browser stores for us. They help show which pages get read and where visitors stop. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information for us. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may behave differently once you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Tracking down and repairing technical problems
- Passing your search request to the partner service that handles it
- Seeing which pages help readers and which need work
- Displaying advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, store or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What it publishes is general guidance on where Franklin County warrant records are held and how the clerk's office, the Sheriff's Office and the courts handle requests for them. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected from visitors is assembled into a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are operated by outside companies. A query entered into one of them is handled under that company's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data, what they share and how they use it, and we have no control over any of that. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court pages, sheriff's office pages, state agency resources and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you away from us, and the destination's privacy policy governs from that point. Read it before you share personal details.
Advertising partners may also track activity across sites to select ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:
- Advertising networks that place ads on our pages
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process queries you run here
- Government or law enforcement bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. No internet service can promise perfect safety, and we will not claim otherwise. We take reasonable steps and cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Massachusetts law gives residents rights over records an organization keeps about them. The state's public records law, M.G.L. c. 66, section 10, covers records held by government agencies and provides a review route through the Supervisor of Records when a request is denied. For data held by this private site, you can ask us to:
- Provide a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
- Delete your data
